Mary Ness’ Short Bread Cookies

Cream butter, gradually add sugar. Sift flour and add a small amount at a time until it will stick together. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured board. Cut into desired shapes and bake on cookie sheet for 15 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Can also be made into three or four ½ inch thick rounds.


  • 1/2c. sugar
  • 1c. butter
  • 2c. flour
