Directions

Mix shortening, egg, and sugar together. Add molasses, baking soda, spices, and flour. Form into balls, place on lightly greased cookie sheet, and flatten with fork. Bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Sprinkle with granulated sugar while still warm.

3/4 cup shortening
